Have you ever checked what shows up when you do a simple search by typing your name in Google, Bing, or any other LLMs?
If not, just try it out! And spend at least two minutes on the result that shows up.
If you already have your presence over LinkedIn, Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, or any other handles where you connect with people or share your interest, then on the very first page, you might see your profile pages link or profile pages link matching your name.
You might also see the recent photos, articles, or videos that you might have shared through your profiles, or the ones that might have been shared through profiles matching your name.
If you see all of your profile pages or the recent contents shared through your profile on the very first page, without any profiles matching your name, you are a very active user and you have a strong personal digital identity over the internet.
If you see only one or two of your profile pages and few recent contents shared through your profile, along with profiles and contents shared through profiles matching your name, you are an active user, but your personal digital identity is weak compared to the people matching your name.
If you do not see any of your profile pages, you are either an in-active user or you do not have your presence over the internet at all.
Now think, who will? and why will one try to get any information by doing a simple search by your name?
If your thoughts point to your future followers, recruits, business partners, old friends, family members, or even customers, then you may ask yourself these questions:
- Will they be able to land on any of your profile pages and connect with you on a single click?
- Is the search result good enough to let them know about you or your interest?
- Is the search result exactly what you want them to see?
- Will the search result attract more followers?
- Will the search result gain you added advantage?
If any of these questions apply to you then chances are:
You are losing business leads, future followers, old friends, or family members since they are not able to land on your profile pages easily or they are getting confused and are landing on profile pages matching your name.
Photos, videos, or articles that you share are not reaching the audience who are not following you, or are not in your list. It is also possible that some negative content that comes up from the profiles matching your name are indirectly ruining your impression.
Content that you intend to share with known or unknown followers to build a strong impression or gain competitive advantage in business opportunities are not easy to reach.
